Magnesium - essential trace mineral

Magnesium is an essential mineral utilized by the body in hundreds of metabolic reactions. Some studies show up to 75% of adults do not meet the recommended daily intake.

It is critical for the function of muscles, lungs, brain, bones, and heart. Lack of magnesium can lead to muscle cramps, muscle soreness, abnormal heart rate, tremors, fatigue, high blood pressure, depression, and sleep disturbances.

For performance magnesium can support efficiency of energy metabolism, cardiorespiratory function and muscular function. Requirements can go up during exercise around 10-20%. Magnesium flows in and out of working muscle cells as they contract and relax.

Exercise can cause you to loose magnesium through sweat along with other minerals. This is especially true in extended exertion, endurance events, or hot environments.

Foods high in magnesium such as fatty fish, pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate, avocado, almonds, and spinach could help support healthy inflammation

Electrolyte Endurance Powder includes Magnesium Bisglycinate Chelate. A form of magnesium bound to glycine that is more bioavailable than simple forms of magnesium and easier on the gut.
